The creative process, to me, is a balance of carrying forward the wisdom of past experiences while remaining open enough to begin again and again, as if for the first time.

Born in Kolkata, India in 1989, I came to painting in my mid-thirties, following a decade-long career in the corporate sector. This diverse path — spanning commerce, culture, and human behavior — has shaped my perspective and now finds its expression in the language of oil on canvas.

My work is inspired by vintage photographs, distant terrains, and the quiet symbolism of nature. Ice, forests, light, and vast distances appear often in my paintings, evoking power, fragility, and the reminder of forces greater than ourselves. My process is intuitive: a painting may begin with a fleeting impression or fragment of detail, only to be reimagined entirely as emotion and instinct take over.

I work primarily with oils on medium to large-scale canvases, using expressive brushwork and layered colour to capture mood over realism. The artists who have shaped me range from Van Gogh, Monet, and Matisse, to Tyeb Mehta, Amrita Sher-Gill, and Jean-Michel Basquiat — each reminding me of art’s ability to be both deeply personal and universally resonant.

Looking ahead, I aim to build a body of work that is technically masterful, spiritually rooted, and cohesive — one that speaks to collectors and collaborators alike. Beyond canvas, I aspire to explore interdisciplinary collaborations, weaving together visual art, photography, poetry, and movement into immersive experiences.
